Meal Replacements

Many people are confused about Meal Replacements because they think that they are the same as “Diet Shakes” or “High Protein Powders” or “Low carb Powders” or “Muscle Building Powders” etc

BUT – they are NOT THE SAME

MEAL REPLACEMENTS must meet stringent criteria – standard 2.9.3 of the Australian New Zealand Food Standards Code.

Meal Replacements must provide 25% of the RDI of vitamins and minerals per serve. Thus if you use a real meal replacement whilst trying to lose weight, you cannot develop nutritional deficiencies.

Why is Dr Sandra Cabot's QuickLoss™ the best meal replacement on the market?

Table Explained

Contains lecithin

Lecithin is a source of essential fatty acids that help to form the myelin sheath. This provides a protective covering for the nerves. The fats in lecithin assist healthy brain function and efficient digestion.

Carbs per serve

A lower carbohydrate content per serve is desirable as it will result in faster weight loss. Lower carbohydrate diets promote a fall in blood insulin levels, allowing more efficient fat burning to take place.

Sugars per serve

The sugar content per serve should be low. A high sugar content indicates the carbohydrate content of a meal replacement is mostly comprised of undesirable plain table sugar.

Protein per serve

An adequate protein intake is essential while trying to lose weight. Protein preserves muscle tissue and increases the feeling of fullness.

Contains selenium

Selenium is required for the formation of active thyroid hormone (T3), therefore is essential for metabolism and converting the calories you consume into energy. Low blood levels of selenium are associated with muscle weakness.

Contains iodine

Iodine is an essential component of thyroid hormones. A deficiency of iodine leads to a sluggish metabolism and an under active thyroid gland.

Contains NeOpuntia®

NeOpuntia® is a patented cactus fibre that creates a feeling of fullness and reduces appetite. It also binds the fat in the digestive system, reducing its absorption and promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria. NeOpuntia® is derived from prickly pear cactus.

Contains xylitol

Xylitol is a natural sweetener found in some fruits and vegetables, corn cobs and birch trees, and it is even made in our bodies during normal metabolism. Xylitol looks and tastes like sugar but has 40 percent fewer calories than regular table sugar.

Contains alginic acid

Alginic acid is derived from brown algae. It produces a feeling of fullness and absorbs toxins from your intestines, helping them to be eliminated via bowel movements.

Contains whey protein

Whey protein is a superior source of protein, as it is easy to digest and contains all essential amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks of muscles, hair, skin, nails and other important organs and tissues. Whey protein keeps you full for longer and helps to prevent sugar cravings.

Contains no vegetable oil

Vegetable oil or vegetable fat are terms used to describe what are usually poor quality, highly refined and processed oils. Processed vegetable oil is often cottonseed oil, corn oil, soybean oil or canola oil, and usually contains harmful trans fatty acids. Trans fatty acids disrupt normal cell function, raise levels of LDL “bad” cholesterol and lower levels of HDL “good” cholesterol.
